Once again, as part of its ongoing community service projects, MAPO conducted its annual eye-screening event in conjunction with the annual blood donation campaign at Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur, from 8.30 am on Sunday 29 July 2012.

This would be the 24th year that associations in Malaysia got together to coordinate and organize this community project. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Finance of Malaysia, YB Senator Dato’ IR Donald Lim Siang Chai.

The public were encouraged to voluntarily donate blood and, at the same time, get complimentary eye-tests, glucose blood-tests and Chinese medical consultations, all at one venue. Those who participated in the blood donation were entitled to take part in a lucky draw as well.

This event received strong support and positive response from everyone. We are certainly looking forward to taking part again at next year’s campaign!
